Cteam helps with an accident in Weilerswist-Vernich

Whenever help is needed, Cteam is there. This is a brief summary of what happened last weekend on the Weilerswist-Vernich power line in North Rhine-Westphalia, where a tractor caused a widespread power outage.

It is said that the tractor knocked over a pylon belonging to Westnetz’s 110 kV high-voltage line in a crop field. Around 65,000 people in parts of the Euskirchen and Düren districts, as well as the Rhine-Erft and Rhine-Sieg districts, were without power for around four hours. The mobile phone network was also partially affected by the outage.

Once the power supply had been successfully restored, specialists from Cteam were called in to set up a provisional replacement power mast. A provisional overhead line, the CP pylon , was used, which achieves its stability with load weights without further anchoring to the ground. In addition to this, Cteam provided know-how for optimised deployment planning and logistical processing.

Following the delivery and assembly of the CP pylon on Friday and Saturday, the first circuit was switched on again on Sunday afternoon. The entire line has been back in operation since Monday afternoon and the supply has been restored.

The management and operations managers at Westnetz are very satisfied with Cteam's work and that of its partner company, Lineman, and have thanked them for their rapid and professional assistance.
